  2.    Money97 - Error Messages

  7.    Error #0 :     Not enough memory for operation.
  8.  
  9.                   Memory is or became loss during the operation. In most cases
  10.                   the operation is simply made undone and the program continues
  11.                   to run. Perhaps some events may cause Money97 to terminate
  12.                   running.
  13.                   Sometimes a more precise error message will be displayd.
  14.  
  15.                   This error may occur during load processes or when adding entries.
  16.  
  17.                   Hints:
  18.  
  19.                   -> Make more memory available, for example try:
  20.  
  21.                      - Quitting other running applications.
  22.                      - Reducing screen resolution and/or depth.
  23.                      - Buy more ram (and feed your amiga with it! :o)
  24.  
  25.  
  26.    Error #1:      Unknown file format for project.
  27.  
  28.                   The file you attempted to load is not a Money97 project file.
  29.  
  30.                   Hints:
  31.  
  32.                   -> Don't try to load files that are no project files of Money97.
  33.                      This special file was recognized as not being a Money97 file,
  34.                      but if for some reason a file is not, you may run into problems.
  35.  
  36.  
  37.    Error #2:      Project was written by a newer version of Money97.
  38.  
  39.                   The project file you attempted to load was created with a newer
  40.                   version of Money97 and won't be loaded since changes to the file
  41.                   format may have been made.

  43.                   Hints:
  44.  
  45.                   -> You should look for a newer version of the program.
  46.                   -> You can find out what version your copy of Money97 is by typing
  47.  
  48.                      "version Money97"       (without quotes)

  50.                      in CLI and in the Money97 drawer.

  52.    Error #3-#14:  Chunk mismatch. File is corrupt.

  54.                   Hints:

  56.                   -> Don't try to load this file. Sorry, there are no roundabouts to
  57.                      solve this problem. Always make safety copies of important data.

  63.                            This chunk marks the start of the title list which is displayd
  64.                            in the pop up lists at title entries.

  66.                   #4 ->    SECT chunk in project file is missing.

  68.                            This chunk marks the start of the section list which is defined
  69.                            in preferences editor.

  71.                   #5 ->    PREF chunk in project file is missing.

  73.                            This chunk marks the start of the preferences block in the
  74.                            project file.

  76.                   #6 ->    YEAS chunk in project file is missing.

  78.                            This chunk marks an info block over the amount of year entries
  79.                            to be loaded. - Some kind of header.

  81.                   #7 ->    YEAR chunk in project file is missing.

  83.                            This chunk marks the start of a year description in the
  84.                            project file.

  86.                   #8 ->    MONT chunk in project file is missing.

  89.                            project file.

  98.                            This chunk is a header to the fixcost block in the
  99.                            project file and contains information about the
  100.                            amount of fixcosts to load.

  104.                            This chunk marks the start of a fixcost entry
  105.                            description in the project file.

  110.                            popup lists at title entries.

  123.    Error #15:     Unknown file format for preferences file.

  125.                   This file you attempted to load is not a Money97 preferences
  126.                   file.

  128.                   Hints:

  130.                   -> Don't select files, that are not Money97 preferences files.
  131.                      In this special case, Money97 detected the difference, but if
  132.                      it does not for some reason, you may run into problems.

  135.    Error #16:     ASL Library not available.
  136.  
  137.                   The Asl library is a system runtime shared library, which is
  138.                   needed for the file requester.
  139.  
  140.                   Hints:
  141.  
  142.                   -> Make sure asl.library is present in the libs: drawer of
  143.                      your system and that it works with your kickstart rom.
  144.  
  145.                      For example datatypes.library of workbench 3.1 doesn't
  146.                      work with kickstart 3.0 rom.
  147.  
  148.    Error #17:     Intuition library not of valid version.
  149.  
  150.                   The intuition library must be of version 39 or higher for
  151.                   Money97 to work. This equals Kickstart 3.0 or higher. There
  152.                   is currently no way to get Money97 work with Kickstart 2.0
  153.                   or even less.
  154.  
  155.                   Hints:
  156.  
  157.                   -> Buy Kickstart 3.0 or better the newest available version.
  158.  
  159.    Error #18:     Money97 needs at least version 3.0 of MUI.
  160.  
  161.                   Since version 3.0 the whole design of MUI has changed, it is
  162.                   much more powerful and many of its new functions and
  163.                   possibilities are used by Money97. You have to install a
  164.                   correct version of MUI first, before you can use Money97.
  165.  
  166.                   Hints:
  167.  
  168.                   -> Update your version of MUI to at least 3.0. You can always
  169.                      get the newest version of MUI from http://www.sasg.com or
  170.                      from aminet. Look for a file called muiXXusr.lha where xx
  171.                      is something bigger than 30.

  174.    Error #19:     Can't open MUIMaster library.
  175.  
  176.                   You'll get this message, if Money97 didn't even detect any
  177.                   version of MUI on your system. Please read the docs for
  178.                   more information about MUI. MUI is absolutely necessary for
  179.                   Money97 to work.

  181.                   Hints:
  182.  
  183.                   -> Install MUI version 3.0 or higher on your system first
  184.                      and then retry starting Money97.
  185.

  187.    Error #20:     Can't create toolbutton class.
  188.  
  189.                   Most of the time this error occurs, if the sub-directory
  190.                   "images" is not present in the progdir: directory or it's
  191.                   empty, i.e. the graphical data for the image buttons is
  192.                   not available. Money97 is not able to create the gui and
  193.                   stops running. A loss of memory may also be the problem.
  194.  
  195.                   Hints:
  196.  
  197.                   ->   Perhaps a reinstall will help you to fix this problem,
  198.                         otherwise contact the author.
  199.  
  200.    Error #21:     Can't create application.
  201.  
  202.                   This error occurs, if MUI is not avle to create the
  203.                   application GUI and may have different reasons, from
  204.                   the loss of memory to not finding a class.
  205.  
  206.                   Hints:
  207.  
  208.                   -> Try to make more memory avaliable.
  209.                   -> Check, wether you installed all classes.
  210.                   -> Check if the toolbar images are in iff format or make
  211.                        sure the needed datatypes are present on your system.
  212.  
  213.    Error #22:     List Corrupt.
  214.  
  215.                   Very serious error. This one occurs, if Money97 loses track
  216.                   of it's internal memory lists. This might indicate a defect
  217.                   RAM or (better) some other program has written to memory
  218.                   areas it was not allowed to.

  220.                   Hints:
  221.  
  222.                   -> Stop working on the current project, AT ONCE, and
  223.                      DON'T SAVE IT over an existing project file, since
  224.                      YOU MIGHT CORRUPT THE COMPLETE FILE!!!
  225.                   -> Check if this error also occurs, if other applications
  226.                      are not running at the same time.
  227.                   -> Run memory test programs at early system boot stage
  228.                      (i.e. with lots of ram free for testing!).

  232.    NOTE: Not all error messages are localized nor are displayed in nice
  233.          requesters. This is not a bug, but a feature. Localization is
  234.          only possible, after opening locale.library. Unfortunately errors
  235.          don't know this and might occur before this is done so these
  236.          messages will always be in english and can only appear at
  237.          programm start. Error messages in requesters are done through
  238.          MUI. Errors occuring, before the application is built can't use
  239.          MUI. I thought that these few errors which hopefully won't ever
  240.          occur are not worth the afford and the memory used by another
  241.          library I had to open to display them in requesters, too.
